THIS SCHOOL WAS BUILT IN 1907 AND COMDEMNED IN 1958-- NOT LONG AFTER THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN.
An addition was added to the school (shown at the right here) about 1920. The slide was a fire escape. The tradition was to let the students slide down the fire escape
on the last day of school
